The Cabela's in Hamburg is the only location on the east coast. This popular outfitter for hunting, fishing and outdoor gear draws over 6 million visitors a year making it one of the top destinations in Pennsylvania and the east coast. The store is enormous with huge displays with animals from around the world mounted in scenery that, in certain spots of the store, stands several stories high. Where else can you see a mounted alligator, an elephant, a mountain lion and a gigantic fish tank filled with large fresh water fish? Cabela's, that's where. The store carries all of your favorite merchandise from an expansive selection of fishing poles and guns, bows, hunting accessories and apparel, outdoor hiking and camping gear and the list goes on and on. This store can easily take 4 hours to navigate and the sales are just incredible at the store. You'll want to visit the store several times each year like everyone else.

 

Crystal Cave

See one of Pennsylvania's natural wonders! Cave tours are available from March 1 through November 30th. Crystal Cave is a great stop for the family. The tours are great and you can follow it up with a trip to their gift shop, their large rock shop, Miniature golf, fast food with Dutch specialties, their hand-dipped ice cream parlor (a favorite of ours), and a museum. If you want to spend some private time the cave is surrounded by over 125 wooden acres and several picnic areas for the family.

The Hamburg Field House is located on Pine Street in Hamburg, Pennsylvania and is owned and operated by the Union Fire Company NO.1 of Hamburg. The facility has a seating capacity of 1500 and plenty of convenient well-lit parking. The facility, built in early 1950’s, is 20,000 square feet and has been used to host a variety of events such as train shows,reptile shows, a circus, craft shows, dances, bingos, dog shows, private parties, and business seminars.

A trip through Northern Berks County, the land of the "Fancy" Pennsylvania Dutch, will take you through fertile countryside where hundred year old Pennsylvania German barns are decorated with a unique folk art design, referred to as hex signs. Also called Barn art, the hex sign area includes all of Berks and Lehigh, and portions of seven adjacent counties. The heaviest concentrations are found in the area of Old Route 22-The Hex Tour Highway. This is a great and unique tour that focuses on the culture this area is built upon. A must for anyone interested in the heritage of Berks County.

The Strand Theatre

The Strand Theatre is a favorite for everyone in town and invites you to catch a show there while you are in town. Like everything in Hamburg, the one screen Strand Theatre is a family oriented place to have a great time. They are situated right in the center of town - not more than a block from any of the fine places you can take the family for a quick dinner just before the show.
